Working under the direction of the Deputy Communications Director and taking lead in directing, conceptualizing, designing, producing, and disseminating exceptional graphics and visual products to support marketing, advertising, and general communications, thus serving as an integral part of the agency’s efforts to recruit Peace Corps Volunteers across the United States.
Serve as subject matter expert on Peace Corps branding standards, guidelines, and implementation of branding on visual materials; provide input on all aspects of the American public’s interaction with the Peace Corps brand, including Peace Corps Volunteers, Peace Corps partners, and other external stakeholders. Field inquiries and respond with accurate advice about how the Peace Corps logo and branding may be used in various contexts.
Develop and coordinate creative designs to enhance storytelling; produce layouts and subject matter information that demonstrates advanced working knowledge and familiarity with design and communication strategy across all media including digital, video, mobile, social, and other broadcast platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integrated creative design solutions.
Evaluate the effectiveness of branding policies, programs, and operations in achieving the communication program’s strategic goals. Conduct research on new Agency and government initiatives to provide planning assistance in support of the Agency’s communications program.
Direct involvement on any graphic/branding needs pertaining to the Agency’s most important events, internal communication graphic needs, and any major marketing campaigns, responsible for curating the Agency’s art/visual pieces. Determine best methods of presenting various messages and adapting style, manner of presentation, and format to the requirements of medium used and needs of the audience.
Provide administrative and technical supervision to staff under direct supervision, including up to FP-4 employees. Distribute work according to the established workflow or job specialization and assure its timely completion. Research, establish, and implement systems and procedures to assure the Creative Team is successful at completing assigned workloads. Maintain status and progress of work and adjust to meet deadlines.
When assigned, lead asset collection trips to different Peace Corps posts for the purpose of gathering content for social media engagement, marketing, and recruitment needs. As the Producer for such trips, the main responsibility is overseeing the entire organization and development of the trip. That includes, but not limited to, responsible for all meetings; coordination between Leadership, the Creative team, and posts offices; coordinating with Travel & Transportation; involved in developing concepts of what assets to collect, participation in the trip; interviewing all Volunteers, counterparts, community members, and staff members.
Work directly with Human Resources Department when there is a need to hire new Creative Team members. Review resumes, conduct interviews, and manage the entire process according to HR policies. Direct involvement in ordering new equipment and development of the budget for the Creative Team.
